University e-mail addresses are receiving an increasing amount of spam. Unfortunately, the senders of these mails are always inventing new tricks. Our administrators are constantly improving and tuning the software rules of our spam filter. Mail that is classified as spam is not deleted by the system, but the subject field is modified with the text [SPAM]. In this way, all mail reaches the recipient and no important mail is lost.
It is becoming increasingly common for faculties and institutes to request a website. In order to avoid the unsustainable and IT-secure situation of users having to install and operate website systems themselves, the IT Centre has launched a website service, which allows portals to be set up and operated from an administration interface.
For IT security and operational reasons, the Centre for Informatics is seeking to remove individually installed websites and applications from the university systems. Examples include WordPress, Joomla. In parallel, we support the use of the website service launched by the IT Centre.
