Microsoft 365 is a cloud-based service that includes M365 applications and office suite (e.g. Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint…). Most applications are available on multiple devices, ensuring you can work more efficiently.
Citizens (employees, students) of the University of Miskolc are entitled to use the services provided by Microsoft 365 – formerly Office 365 – for higher education.
The implementation of M365 is currently underway, which involves both the migration of the directory and the migration of correspondence to the cloud. At the end of the process, all university citizens will have access to M365.
All active students of the University of Miskolc (based on Neptun data) will have their M365 account and student email address automatically created after enrolment, and a notification will be sent to the non-university email address provided in Neptun. The format of the student email address is keresztnev.vezeteknev@student.uni-miskolc.hu. With this e-mail address and the corresponding password, you can access the M365 services, the student Wi-Fi network (ME-Student) and the e-learning on campus. It is important that all students have a non-university e-mail address in Neptun. All students can use the M365 services (Word, Excel, Teams, OneDrive, mail…) with their own M365 account after login, which can be accessed from www.office.com. An M365 account is also required to use the central computer classrooms.
It is mandatory to change the initial password after the first login.
Within the framework of the Official Software programme, students of the University of Miskolc with active legal status are entitled to use the desktop version of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), which can be downloaded from www.office.com and activated with the university e-mail address after installation. There may be functional differences between the applications that can be used online and those that are installed.
Students and faculty of the University of Miskolc are also entitled to a free download of the office suite M365. The M365 package includes Microsoft Teams in addition to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote.
The previously available self-registration option has been disabled.
Each student’s M365 account also comes with a 1 TB cloud storage space. Here they can store files and create folders to organise their documents. They can access or share them from anywhere, on any device.
Microsoft Teams is Microsoft’s video conferencing software, which is available to students at www.office.com after logging in. During distance learning, lectures and consultations can be triggered using Microsoft Teams. Teams has an installable application and a browser version. We recommend using the installable application.
