The Universitas Miskolcinensis Foundation offers scholarships to the students of the University of Miskolc every year, with the primary aim of providing financial and moral support to students with social disadvantages who have achieved outstanding academic, scientific and professional achievements. When assessing the applications, equal weight is given to the social circumstances of the students and their outstanding academic, professional and scientific achievements.
A detailed call for applications is published each year, specifying which students of the University of Miskolc may apply for the scholarship. Application forms can be submitted in the first weeks of the academic year. Students receiving the scholarship will receive a monthly grant of HUF 50,000 for 1 academic year. The annual amount of the scholarship is HUF 50,000,000.
In November 2021, a cooperation agreement was signed between MAX AICHER Gmbh, ÓAM Ózdi Acélművek Kft., the University of Miskolc and the Universitas Miskolcinensis Foundation, establishing the SteelTech Center Hungary (hereinafter STC), a steel technology research, development and education center, which aims to support the revival of the Hungarian steel industry and the education of the next generation. The STC functions as an exceptional flagship project, representing an innovative model of collaboration between industry and higher education in the fields of training and research and development, and focusing on the transformation of steel manufacturing processes across a wide range of areas. This Miskolc-based steel industry competence centre is committed to effectively supporting the Hungarian steel industry, which is crucial to the national economy, by developing research, development and education programmes.
