Facilities

Located in the side wing of the E/4 dormitory, there are two rooms. The traditional gym, renovated in 2018, measuring 14 m x 30 m features plastic sports flooring and primarily hosts table tennis, badminton, volleyball, and various martial arts sessions and competitions. The gym has a ceiling height of 6 meters.

Bitumen and Multi-Use Courts

A bitumen court, measuring 20 m x 40 m, is primarily used for football and basketball. Located near the tennis courts, this area also includes four streetball courts and is equipped with lighting.

A multi-sue rekortan court is available for booking, serving multiple sports, requiring a reservation and payment of a fee.

Both the bitumen courts (without lighting) and the bitumen area are open for public use. However, exclusive access can be arranged for events.

Outdoor Fitness Park

The park includes various fitness equipment such as:

• Double dip bars
• Parallel bars
• Horizontal ladder
• Multiple-height pull-up bars
• Push-up bars
• Three-step climbing equipment
• Double abdominal bench

The University Arena, commonly known as the “UFO,” primarily serves as a venue for physical education classes, recreational sports, and MEAFC (Miskolci Egyetemi Atlétikai és Futball Club) team during weekdays. Over the years, it has hosted numerous large-scale and nationally significant sports competitions, concerts, exhibitions, and fairs.

Recent Upgrades and Features

• Accessibility Improvements:
  The arena has been made fully accessible.
• Renovations:
  Refurbishments of locker room sanitary facilities and roof insulation have been completed.
• Floor Renovation (Summer 2010):
  The playing surface was updated with a high-quality Gerflor Taraflex floor covering and Haro underlay, ensuring top standards for various sports.
• Protective Coverings:
  New protective flooring was installed to accommodate non-sporting events.
• Scoreboard:
  An international-standard scoreboard was installed for the U18 Women’s Basketball European Championship held in August 2011.
• Energy and Aesthetic Upgrades (2017):
  The building underwent comprehensive external and internal renovations, including energy efficiency improvements, enhancing both its aesthetics and functionality.

Thanks to these investments, the arena not only meets national standards but significantly surpasses them, offering a modern and versatile space for a wide range of events.

Located within the Sports Center of the University of Miskolc, the arena features two 20m x 40m artificial turf fields, enclosed by perimeter boards and equipped with ball-catching nets. The facility includes a service building with four locker rooms (each with showers and lockable cabinets), a brick oven, a 72m² covered (open-sided) terrace, and a 150m² open terrace. The area can accommodate up to 300 people, with the option for further expansion, providing a comfortable environment for rest, refreshment, or cheering on teammates.
