Two engineering fields from the University of Miskolc have been ranked among the world’s best in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025.
In the field of Petroleum Engineering, the University of Miskolc is ranked 151-175, while in the field of Mechanical, Aeronautical & Manufacturing Engineering, the institution is ranked 501-575.
The QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025 is the most comprehensive collection to date, with 171 institutions included that were not listed in last year’s edition.
The sector ranking is based on five indicators. These include academic reputation, which shows how excellent academics consider universities to be in research in their field. The employer reputation indicator measures the institutions that are perceived by graduate employers to be outstanding in recruiting graduates.
The ranking, based on Elsevier Scopus, takes into consideration research publications and citation rates, and also evaluates the ability of institutions to develop international, sustainable research partnerships with other higher education institutions.
