When did you start your studies and why did you choose the University of Miskolc?
I began my studies in September 2023 and chose the University of Miskolc due to its long-standing reputation in earth and mining sciences. The university’s welcoming atmosphere for international students further convinced me that it was the perfect place to pursue my academic goals.
What are the places and activities that an international student should definitely try in Miskolc?
International students should definitely visit Lillafüred, a charming area known for its stunning natural beauty and impressive waterfall. Another must-visit is the Cave Bath in Miskolctapolca, where you can relax in natural thermal waters inside a unique cave setting.
What are/were your biggest challenges during your studies and how did you overcome these challenges?
My biggest challenge was adapting to a new culture and environment, which initially felt quite challenging. However, the university’s support helped me engage with the student community and gradually adjust, making the transition much smoother.
What skills and benefits have you already gained from studying at the University of Miskolc?
In addition to enhancing my knowledge and research skills in my programme, studying at the University of Miskolc has allowed me to meet people from diverse cultures, broadening my worldview. It has also improved my adaptability and communication skills, which are valuable in both personal and professional life.
How do you think your Miskolc University degree will help you in your life and career?
My studies at the University of Miskolc helped me secure an internship with a major Hungarian company, thanks to the university’s industry connections. It also provides opportunities to connect and engage with global industrial societies, which will be invaluable alongside the respected degree I will earn.
What is the most important thing or advice you would recommend to active/future students of the University of Miskolc?
My advice is to be as active as possible and learn not just from your classes but also from the full university experience. Embrace every opportunity and enjoy the journey.

If I could choose a superpower, it would be speaking every language to break barriers and create a more inclusive environment for all students at the University of Miskolc.
