Internationalization is a key component of the institutional development strategy of the University of Miskolc. The aim of the university is to create a stimulating and facilitative international environment for students, lecturers, academic and business partners to excel in research and academic activities.
To achieve this, the university has set several goals: increasing both the quantity and quality of English-taught study programmes; encouraging more student and staff exchanges and hosting visiting professors; increasing the number of double-degree programmes; creating a student-friendly international service network on campus; developing faculty research portfolios; building a globally active academic and research network with partner universities.
Currently, the eight faculties of the university offer 8 full degree bachelor, 17 full degree master and 6 doctoral study programmes in English. Over 500 courses are offered in English for incoming exchange students. The constantly growing number of international students, both degree-seeking and exchange, exceeded 523 in 2023.
