Short description

The goal of the programme is to train mechanical engineers who can develop, model, design, operate, control and maintain mechanical systems and processes. They can also develop engineering technologies and processes, new materials and manufacturing technologies that are energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. They can also perform leadership, control and organisational tasks, engage in technical development, research, design and innovation, participate in and manage national and international engineering projects. The programme also prepares students for doctoral studies.

Entrance examination

Stage 1 – Preliminary filtering

Applicants who do not meet the eligibility criteria are rejected immediately. This includes those without a bachelor’s degree, a language certificate (B2 or higher) or proof of study conducted in English.  Applicants with a bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field are also rejected. Eligible applicants will be informed about possible dates for the entrance exam.

Stage 2 – Online Entrance Exam

The online entrance exam lasts 20-30 minutes. In the first few minutes, the Entrance Examination Committee asks the applicant to discuss their professional background and motivation for the study field. The rest of the interview focuses on the applicant’s professional skills. The committee then makes a final decision, which can result in one of the following outcomes:

  • accepted for the study programme
  • conditionally accepted for the study programme
  • rejected
Stage 3 – Final Evaluation

Applicants can score a maximum of 100 points. Those who score at least 66 points will be admitted, while those who score less than 66 points will be rejected.

Career prospects

Graduates can take on innovative tasks and participate in engineering projects in Hungary and worldwide. Design engineers are in demand across various industries, such as vehicle manufacturing, machine manufacturing, production engineering.
