She was born in Miskolc in 1962. She completed her primary and secondary education in Miskolc, graduating from Herman Ottó High School in 1981. She continued her law studies at the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of ELTE – Eötvös Loránd University, graduating in 1986. She took her bar exam in 1988, became foreign trade law specialist in 1989, and banking law specialist in 1996. She obtained an intermediate certificate in English language in 1988 and an advanced certificate in French language in 1989.
Since 1987, she has worked in commercial banks and at the Hungarian National Bank. She worked as a legal adviser at Inter-Europa Bank and Agrobank, as acting senior legal adviser at Citibank, as senior legal adviser at Westdeutsche Landesbank and at ABN AMRO Bank. As Managing Director of the Hungarian National Bank, she headed the Legal Directorate and the Presidential Secretariat from March, 2011. She became the senior legal adviser of Erste Bank Zrt. in March, 2009. Returning to the Hungarian National Bank in February, 2014, she is now Chairman of the Financial Arbitration Board. She deals with financial issues and also with alternative dispute resolution and consumer protection issues affecting the financial sector. She keeps close contact with academics teaching alternative dispute resolution and other experts of law faculties specialized for this area.
She has been teaching financial law at Deák Ferenc Postgraduate Institute of the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of Pázmány Péter Catholic University since 2000, in the training courses for qualified legal economists, legal experts specialized in real estate and in economic criminal law. Furthermore, she is also a professional supervisor and instructor in capital markets and banking law, where she is responsible for the professional training programme in the field of financial markets. Since 2020, she has been a lecturer at Széchenyi István University, Győr, in Alternative Dispute Resolution and Mediation; since 2022, she is lecturer in Economic ADR at the ELTE JOTOKI, and since spring of 2023 in Alternative Dispute Resolution and Mediation at the University of Debrecen.
She has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Hungarian Banknote Printing Company, owned by the National Bank of Hungary, since November 2019, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Universitas Miskolcinensis Foundation since 19 July 2020.
