The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme was launched in 2013 by the Hungarian Government. The Programme is based on intergovernmental contracts on educational affairs signed between the Hungarian government and the partner countries.
The aim of the scholarship programme is to promote cultural understanding, economic and political relations between Hungary and other countries.
The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme is managed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and coordinated by Tempus Public Foundation.
Documents, Rules and Regulations
After the personal registration at the SH assistant’s office, the following documents must be submitted via email to your SH assistant:
Without these data / documents, your stipend cannot be transferred and I cannot start to prepare your TAJ card (public health insurance) application.
Private health insurance can be used only after you have already signed the insurance contract at the personal registration at the IRO office. Please check out the document attached about the information how to use the private health insurance, what it covers etc.
Public health insurance (TAJ card) is needed when you have to visit the doctor, residing in the Hostel E/4.
We can start the application ONLY after you have sent the IRO the following documents:
Please be informed that you always have to take your mentor with you when you go to the doctor.
First year scholarship holders on MA/MSc level take part in the two-semester-long Hungarian language and culture course.
The Hungarian language and culture course is an obligatory subject and not fulfilling the subject entails consequences, according to the Operational Regulations of the Stipendium Hungaricum programme.
Classes are held by the teachers of the Language Teaching Centre. The Hungarian language and culture course starts on 3rd October 2022 for Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship holders.
