When did you start your studies and why did you choose the University of Miskolc?
I started my MSc in Computer Science Engineering at the University of Miskolc in the academic year 2022/2023, graduated in June 2024, and will continue my PhD study at the University of Miskolc. I chose the University of Miskolc as it is one of the best universities in Hungary, especially in engineering fields, and from my previous experience as a master’s student I can say that the University of Miskolc is the best university for international students. I got support from my professors, especially my supervisor, who helped me a lot during my studies.
What are the places and activities that an international student should definitely try in Miskolc?
In my opinion, Miskolctapolca and the Cave Bath are very nice places for international students to visit. Avas Lookout Tower also is a good choice as you can see the whole city. And if you want to enjoy the beauty of nature, then Lillafüred is the best place for you.
What are/were your biggest challenges during your studies and how did you overcome these challenges?
My biggest challenge was at the beginning of my studies because it was my first time living alone, far from my home and family. I had to deal with a new culture and people. However, after a couple of days, I met new friends, and they helped me together with my mentors to get through easily.
What skills and benefits have you already gained from studying at the University of Miskolc?
It was new for me to have friends from other countries. My English improved, and I learned how to deal with new problems I hadn’t faced in my home country. Also, my research skills improved during my studies.
How do you think your Miskolc University degree will help you in your life and career?
I believe that it will help me to find more opportunities to improve my skills and gain more experience in computer science.
What is the most important thing or advice you would recommend to active/future students of the University of Miskolc?
Enjoy your new life here in Miskolc. Do not be sad that you are far from your family and friends, you will find new friends here and you will have a lot of happy memories.
If you could choose a superpower, what would it be and how would you use it to help active/future students of the University of Miskolc?
I’d choose to be as fast as The Flash to help them as quickly as possible.
