The Faculty of Economics at the University of Miskolc has made internationalization a strategic priority, building an extensive network of global partnerships. Currently, we collaborate with institutions across 25 countries on four continents, fostering active academic and research cooperation. These partnerships facilitate student and faculty mobility, joint educational programs, and collaborative research projects. As a result, we are seeing a growing number of joint publications with international partners each year, enhancing our global academic footprint.
Our international activities are highlighted by the biennial “Mérleg és Kihívások” conference in Lillafüred, which focuses on value creation, sustainability, and digitalization. The event is significantly enhanced by the participation of our international collaborators. Additionally, for over a decade, we have co-organized the “Emerging Markets Economics and Business” doctoral conference with the University of Oradea, demonstrating our commitment to fostering academic growth.
The Faculty of Economics actively participates in the Pannonia Scholarship Program, which offers short- and long-term mobility opportunities for students, staff, and faculty to study, teach, or conduct research abroad, not only within Europe but across the globe. Furthermore, through the CEEPUS (Central European Exchange Program for University Studies) network, we strengthen student and academic exchanges in Central and Eastern Europe, promoting regional collaboration.
We offer 45 courses taught in English, providing a truly international learning environment. Students from across the globe, including France, Spain, Germany, and Ukraine, study at our Faculty through various mobility programs. This fosters a multicultural atmosphere where collaborative group work and presentations help students improve their language skills and gain global perspectives.
Additionally, the Business Club serves as a platform for both international and Hungarian students to meet successful entrepreneurs and business leaders, offering valuable insights into the world of business and career development.
The Faculty of Economics has also been involved in numerous international research projects, from leading initiatives under the EIT KIC Raw Materials to participating in H2020, INTERREG and ESPON programs. These projects enhance our international research collaboration, addressing critical global challenges and contributing to the Faculty’s reputation as a leader in economic research.
