All students with an active status are entitled to have a Hungarian student card, granting them the same advantages as Hungarian students have.
If you are an exchange student, after registration at the International Office you will automatically receive a temporary student card issued by the Directorate for Educational Affairs valid for 60 days free of charge. Renew it before expiry. If you are a degree student, first you have to apply for the permanent student card at the government office with a mentor. Upload the code you receive into the Neptun system to get your temporary card.
Mentor students will assist with the application, includingingmake an appointment and accompanying you to the government office off campus. After submitting the application, you will receive a code to enter into Neptun. Once done, you will get your temporary student card issued by the Directorate for Educational Affairs. The plastic, permanent student card will be ready in a few weeks.
After registration at Directorate for Scientific Affairs and International Relations, exchange students will automatically receive a temporary student card issued by the Directorate for Educational Affairs valid for 60 days free of charge. Renew it before expiry, free of charge.
Make sure to ask for a validation sticker for each semester to keep your student card valid.
